During the reign of Sultan Zainal Abidin III also the appointment of inspectors to implement the laws of measurement at that time. A court was established to ensure that laws could be implemented in justice and more organized. Establishment Laws of Terengganu Government was created. A prison was also been built.
Friendly relationship with Siamese Government was established whereby His Royal Highness of The Sultan has sent gifts in the form of “Gold Flower’ once in three years. The two-way relationship had concluded by by sending officers from Siamese Government (Thailand) to Kuala Terengganu during the Royal Installation of Sultan Zainal Abidin. The Siamese King had also visited Kuala Terengganu in 1887.
Besides that, there is boat manufacturing of various types such as fisherman’s boat, perahu kolek, setak, sekoci, jalur and the most well-known is perahu payang. The locations of boats-making still remain the same including in Kampung Losong, Duyung, Teluk Pasu and Pulau Rusa. Cottage industries such as making batik, songket, wood carving and copper products still exist and truly beneficial.
Beaches and islands in Kuala Terengganu area such as Pulau Redang, Pulau Bidong, Pulau Duyung and the beaches of Batu Buruk and Teluk Ketapang are destinations and main tourism attrations.
Kuala Terengganu is now well known all over the world as National and International level sports championships were held. Among them were the Terengganu Monsoon Cup, Sultan’s Cup Endurance Ride and FEI World Endurance Championship 2008.
