It is the biggest museum complex in South-east Asia with four main blocks besides having a maritime museum and five traditional houses.
It was built with a beautiful garden landscape and resembling Terengganu’s glory which is rich in cultural history until today.
It is located on a 27 hectare land on Bukit Losong, Kuala Terengganu. The complex exposes an attractive architecture which is an inspiration from the old castle in Terengganu.
It places a main museum, maritime museum, fishery museum, four traditional houses, botanical garden and the Malay herbal garden.
The main museum contains a gallery which exhibits textiles, weaving techniques, traditional weapons, petroleum development, Islamic arts and many more.
Tips
Ticket Counter is located at Shahbandar Jetty, opposite to General Post Office. Ticket price is RM5 per person.
Transport
Car
Those who are driving to the museum should take the route to Kampung Losong which is well-known for it’s ‘keropok lekor’. The museum can be seen from Bukit Losong.
Bus
It is only a 15 minutes bus ride from MBKT bus station to the museum or Losong.
Taxi
From Kuala Terengganu taxi stand, it is only a 10 minutes drive to the museum.
